Thanks a million for supporting Darren Holden and of the “Climb for Kids” team when they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro last October.
This documentary is narrated by Hollywood actor Colin Farrell, ‘ The Climb for Kids – Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge’ follows a group of fundraisers including some well known faces like The High King’s member Darren Holden, TV and Radio presenters Kathryn Thomas, Síle Seoige, Jenny Buckley and Ruth Scott, comedians Alan Shortt and Karl Spain and fitness guru Paul Byrne as they take on this emotional and gruelling trek to raise much needed funds for Ireland’s sick children.

Darren’s Kilimanjaro Trek!
Just one week left until Darren undertakes the biggest challenge of his life. On 10th Oct, Darren will don his hiking boots again and hit the peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Our Lady’s Children’s hospital, Crumlin and the National Children’s Research Centre in a challenge called “Climb for Kids.”
Darren will join host of Irish celebrities as well as 16 volunteers from the Hospital to complete the grueling climb in just seven days.
You can get behind Darren’s climb by:
Registering for your very own challenge at www.climbforkids.ie, or emailing climbforkids@cmrf.org. You will then receive a fundraising pack, with your own pedometer and FM radio and instructions on how best to raise funds for this event. That way you can ‘kinda’ climb Kilimanjaro with Darren.

Adam With The High Kings
Adam O’ Sullivan from Kerry with The High Kings! The multi platinum Irish group are exclusively releasing their charity single on this coming Late Late Show Friday, 8 October 2010. ‘Whiskey in the Jar’
featuring Adam O’Sullivan. It is raising well needed funds and awareness for Temple Street Children¹s Hospital and Climb for Kids in association with Our Lady¹s Children¹s Hospital, Crumlin.Darren Holden of The High Kings will be leaving for Kilimanjaro , with the Climb for Kids Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge on Saturday 9 October with other Irish celebrities including Kathryn Thomas, Sile Seoige, Jenny Buckley, Paul Byrne, Alan Shortt, Ruth Scott & Karl Spain. Each celebrity nominates a child to do this climb for and Darren will be climbing for Adam.
When Adam was in Temple Street Hospital and attending the on-site school, he recorded this track. Adam has been an avid fan of The High Kings for a number of years and recording this single with them, was a dream come true. Selling this single for Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children is a way of thanking both hospitals for the care and attention they have given and continue to give Adam and other sick children.

The High Kings launched their residency in Killarney;s INEC on Wednesday with a photoshoot with renowned local photographer, Yvonne O’Sullivan.
The lads dipped their toes into the spectacular scenery of Dundag Bay, jewel in the crown of the Kingdom, Kerry. Check out the gallery for more pictures of the guys!

The High Kings and Wolfe Tones Haiti Appeal
The High Kings along with the Wolfe Tones are set to release ‘On the One Road’ as a special charity single available on download.
All proceeds from the single will go to GOAL’S HAITI EARTHQUAKE APPEAL.
The song is available on all digital platforms from February 12th on Universal Music.

The High Kings were saddened to learn of the passing of Liam Clancy, Irish Folk legend, and Uncle of Finbarr. The Clancy brothers and Tommy Makem were credited with bringing Irish folk songs to a worldwide audience, and their ballads influenced a new generation of folk singers, including Bob Dylan, who named Liam Clancy as the best ballad singer he had ever heard.
The High Kings will continue to honour the tradition of The Clancy’s in their music, and would like to honour a friend and mentor, Liam Clancy.

The High Kings are back on the road with a new show showcasing their incredible versatility. Between them Martin Furey, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden and Finbarr Clancy play thirteen instruments bringing a rousing acoustic flavour to brand new songs and old favourites. The High Kings visited RTE Radio 1 on St Patrick’s day to perform Live on the Pat Kenny Radio Show. While there, Pat, officially congratulated the Lads on achieving Platinum sales for both debut CD and DVD.
